Our Community Investment > Crescent Wealth Foundation
Crescent Wealth cleanses any tainted income by donating it to charity.
Crescent Wealth does not invest in any company that earns more than 5% of its income from prohibited sources (this percentage cap is determined and set by AAOIFI, the global standard for Islamic investment principles). As such, the Crescent Wealth Foundation Fund is an important element of Crescent Wealth’s compliance with Islamic investment principles. As and when one of the Fund’s managed by Crescent Wealth receives distributions such as dividends, Crescent Wealth on advice of the Shariah Supervisory Board determines whether any component of that income could be Prohibited Income (earned within the 0-5% threshold) and subsequently any such Prohibited Income is cleansed by being distributed to the Crescent Wealth Foundation Fund.
The Crescent Wealth Foundation Fund then distributes all received distributions to good causes with Australian registered charities as listed below.
Of note is that Crescent Wealth’s ethical filters have operated stringently and efficiently in selecting Islamic compliant companies that minimal tainted income has accumulated.

Crescent Wealth is a partner of the Islamic Museum of Australia who officially opened their doors to the public on Monday 3rd March 2014. The Museum brilliantly fuses Australian and Islamic art and heritage, promoting harmony through education and its beautiful displays of Islamic Heritage.
The Islamic Museum of Australia is a not-for-profit foundation founded in May 2010 with the purpose of establishing the first Islamic Museum in Australia. It aims to showcase the rich artistic heritage and historical contributions of Muslims in Australia and abroad through the display of various artworks and historical artefacts.
This is the first centre of its kind in Australia and showcases a diverse range of Islamic arts including architecture, calligraphy, paintings, glass, ceramics and textiles. Islamic arts date back to the 7th century with the advent of Islam, and include the different artistic styles and cultural influences of various empires that came under Islamic rule, such as Spanish and Persian influences. The Museum also aims to promote new and established Islamic artists, both local and international.
The effort to establish this purpose-built Islamic Museum is geared towards sharing the artistic and historical achievements of Muslims internationally, and more importantly, in Australia. It will also provide unique cross-cultural and educational services offering fascinating insights into the Muslim Australian experience for visitors and school groups.
The IMA will look to continue the proud tradition that Australia, and namely the State of Victoria, have lead in becoming the Multicultural Hub of the world. This is through working with communities, cultures, faiths and developing centres to educate.
